J. Paige Pantall
Paige is a graduate of Roane State in Harriman, TN with a degree in Applied Health Sciences. Besides her extensive background in sports vision, she holds certifications as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, Optician and Contact Lens Specialist. She brings over 10 years of experience in sports vision with her own training coming from some of the top sports vision experts in the US.
Prior to joining The Competitive Edge, Paige worked with over 350 elite level athletes nationally and internationally as a part of Johnson & Johnson. While with Johnson & Johnson, she worked with many US Olympic teams including soccer, softball, volleyball, aerial skiing, fencing, archery, track & field, and boxing. In addition, she was chosen as the Lead Sports Vision Trainer for the 2008 Beijing Olympics and served as a member of the World Wide Performance Vision Council. As a part of her experience, she also worked with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Dallas Stars, and Chicago Cubs providing sports vision assessments and raising consumer awareness to its benefits. Part of her time with Johnson & Johnson was also spent providing sports vision training and contact lens care to the athletes of The University of North Florida, including men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, women’s volleyball, soccer, golf, and swimming.
While Paige has been with The Competitive Edge, she has worked with several collegiate athletes preparing for the NFL Combine as well as a draftee to the NY Mets organization, and a future hopeful Olympian for swimming. As an avid sports fan, you can find her at sporting events or just watching sports on TV while cooking down-home Southern cuisine for anyone who is around. We are thrilled to bring her great experience to our program at The Competitive Edge, our patients, and athletes in Middle Tennessee.
Kevin Kegarise
Kevin graduated with a B.S., in Business Administration from Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama in 2013. He has been around optometry his whole life, being the son of Drs. Jeff and Susan Kegarise. Kevin was raised in Franklin, TN and attended Franklin High School, for his senior year, he transferred to national perennial basketball powerhouse Oak Hill Academy in Virginia. While there, he helped the Warriors to a number one national ranking and an overall record of 40 wins with the lone loss coming in the national championship game.
After graduating high school, Kevin played college basketball at Birmingham-Southern College. While there, he led the Panthers to a top ten ranking and played in the NCAA Tournament while earning all-conference honors. He ranks in the top ten all-time in three-point field goals made, three-point percentage, and free throws percentage. He is also a member of the 1,000 point club. Kevin has worked with elite athletes throughout the Southeast with Elite Hoops Basketball, a division of Nike Basketball. During his time here at The Competitive Edge, he has trained athletes of all ages and skill levels, from youth to professional.
In his free time, he likes to spend time with family and friends, work out, attend church and travel.
